Payment links and QR

Creating a payment link, sharing it, and what the customer sees on the pay page.

On this page

Fill in:

  • Amount (₹): ₹1 to ₹10,00,000, at most 2 digits of paise.
  • Customer name (optional).
  • Customer WhatsApp (optional): a 10-digit mobile number.
  • Note (optional): up to 120 characters, for example Order #1024, 2 kurta.

Select "Create payment link" to get a QR code and a pay link straight away.

Share it

Copy the link, or select "Share on WhatsApp" to open a message to the customer, to their WhatsApp number if you entered one. The link stays payable for 5 minutes; a countdown shows how long is left.

The exact amount matters

The customer pays a little more than the amount you entered, somewhere between ₹0.01 and ₹0.99 more (a little more again when several of your links share the same amount right now). That is how UPINOW tells this payment apart from every other one, so the customer must pay the exact amount shown, paise included.

A payment made before the link expires still counts even if the bank's alert email arrives up to 2 minutes late, and the pay page keeps checking for a late alert for 10 minutes after expiry.

What the customer sees

Your pay page shows your business name and logo, the amount, a QR code, a "Pay with any UPI app" button, a countdown, and the line "UPINOW will never ask for your UPI PIN, OTP or bank password." There are no UPI app logos on the page, just the one button.

At your plan's limit

Once you reach your plan's monthly collection limit, the create-link form is replaced by an upgrade card: you cannot create new links from the dashboard, the API or the embedded widget until next month or until you upgrade. Links you already shared keep working, their payments still confirm and show up in Orders as usual.

For more on limits, see Plans and billing.
